Blue giraffe

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted anything here for so long... I've been on a bit of a knitting and sewing kick lately, so that's my excuse ;)

Here's a card I made a couple of months ago for a friend - she needed a new baby card to send and commissioned one from me:

Everything on there is pretty much SU, mostly retired.

Choose Happiness card

I had a lot of fun making this card using my new SU stamps (Choose Happiness set) and Word Bubbles framelits. The flower was stamped in Crushed Curry and I then used an aqua painter to draw the colour out over the petals to give it a gently watercoloured feel. The sentiment is Hero Arts but everything else is SU (except the card base which is a generic one from elsewhere).

Sorry about the bad lighting on this - I was taking it at the wrong time of day (night)!

Guy card

I love this CAS card - it came together so easily. SU's Wild Wasabi is one of my favourite colours but I haven't used it in ages so it was great to use it again. And I am so chuffed with how the negative space speech bubble turned out!

There's also some scoring on there for a bit of texture. Got my scoring board this week and had been waiting to try it out.

Embossed card

Last night I made a simple card using two Sizzix embossing folders and some SU ribbon and baker's twine - the details are very beautiful but it doesn't look like much if you see it from a distance! Thankfully, when the recipient gets it out of the envelope they'll be close enough to appreciate its beauty... ;)

Cushion covers

Here are a couple of cushion covers I rustled up a day or two ago using some rather attractive fabric I bought from IKEA ages ago. I do love these!

A birthday card for a boy

This is for a friend's eldest son (turning 8 this month!) - I love the way it came out. Shall be posting it off later today.

A thank you card

I've just made this for a friend who kindly gave me some Modern Medley DSP as a birthday present - I wanted to use some of it on the card, so combined two different patterns with Strawberry Slush cardstock and ink, as well as some pink Tilda ric-rac (which goes quite nicely with the Strawberry Slush I think). The sentiment is from an Archiver's set.
